- The Kelly bar is located at the top of the drill string, and its main function is to transmit torque and bear the total amount of the drill string. The end face of the driving part of Kelly is divided into square and regular hexagon, which are most used in oil drilling Kelly is about three times thicker than drill pipe and made of high strength alloy steel, so it has high tensile strength and torsional strength.
- Sanjack has abundant experience in R & D, production and sales of Kelly bars.
Kelly bar can be divided into fine thread Kelly and non-fine thread Kelly according to the connection of the joints at both ends. Both Chinese and intl standard series applied Kelly bars without fine thread, and the joints at both ends are butt welded with or integrated with the Kelly bars.
Structure
Kelly is composed of driving part, upper and lower joints, etc. The upper joint thread is left-hand thread and the lower joint thread is right-hand thread. The water eye is round.
The cross-sectional shape of the driving part of Kelly bars can be divided into square and hexagonal bars. Generally, square drill pipe is used for large drilling rigs, and hexagonal drill pipe is used for small drilling rigs.
The specifications of Kelly are classified according to the width of the opposite side of the driving part of Kelly, and the length is generally 2-3m longer than that of a single drill pipe. There are two length types of Kelly, 12.2m and 16.46m. The length of the driving part is 11.28m and 15.54m respectively.
The following is the data sheet of Square Kelly.
The following is the data sheet of Hexagonal Kelly.
